My Story

From theory-heavy learning to practical quantity surveying education.

I remember being new to Quantity Surveying and quickly discovering that knowing the terminology was not the same as being ready to perform the work.

I was presented with textbooks, terminology and case studies throughout my time at university, but we never priced a job or became involved in the process of real-life work. When it came to job-specific skills, I struggled to compete with those who had already spent years in the job market, and the education itself had cost a fortune.

Many quantity surveyors have a similar introduction to the construction industry. That creates challenges for freelancers who want to increase their tenders and for business owners who are tired of checking and correcting low-quality work.

I realised that professional, coaching-style education would have prepared me far better for the construction world. That insight became the foundation for training that helps people starting in the industry, developing their confidence or finding their feet in a new role.

I started by giving my own employees a practical toolkit for construction work. As more new staff joined, I watched them develop faster and flourish through the same structured learning.
